Low Temperature Curing Epoxy Adhesive
SW-2216RT
Overview
SW-2216RT epoxy adhesive is a two part, flexible, room temperature curing epoxy adhesive, with high shear and peel strength, highly elastic bond, ideal for coatings that are resistant to vibration, thermal expansion and shrinkage. It can also withstand very cold temperatures without becoming overly brittle. SW-2216RT epoxy adhesive is designed for coatings requiring high performance and flexible bonding. Its elastic properties are very suitable for different surface coatings or situations where different thermal expansion coefficients are considered. Once fully cured, the epoxy resin glue maintains a strong bond under expansion, contraction, and limited displacement, and has good bonding performance even over time and environmental aging. It is a low-viscosity epoxy resin adhesive with good flow resistance and accurate dispensing. Both the substrate and the catalyst are marked in contrasting colors to ensure that the AB component of the product being used is known.
Features
- Very elastic bond that resists extreme shock, vibration and bending and is widely used in the potting and transportation industries.
- It maintains strong bonding under expansion, contraction, and limited displacement conditions, and maintains good viscosity even if the environment aging.
- Excellent for low temperature bonding applications or where the adhesive substrate will be exposed to extreme cold temperatures.
- Medium viscosity, good resistance to flow, dripping or shifting, and also self-levelling.
- Curing time can be shortened from 7 days to 2 hours by thermal curing
Applications
- Low temperature bonding coating, the bonding agent may encounter extreme temperatures
- Potting where expansion and thermal changes may occur, such as solar cell plates and appliances or architectural applications
- Military bonding applications, such as bonded assemblies of moving parts
- General aviation and transportation with vibration and motion
- Excellent bonding for ceramics, plastics and glass to metal
- Bonding a variety of substrates to masonry and stone
